Hi everyone, happy weekend! So, I wish I would have written this post sooner, but after getting back from Whistler we were kind of thrown back into reality and it's taken me, well, a few weeks to adjust. Not fun. Anyways, I want to tell you about our vacation, but I think it's best explained through pictures!
To start our trip, I met Andy's parent's in Seattle on Sunday. I've never been to Seattle so I had a great time walking around the city and exploring!
The amount of fresh produce and seafood at the market was unbelievable. Everything looked amazing!
Fresh Salmon jerky, so good!!
We made a trip out to the Space Needle, didn't take a ride to the top since the weather wasn't great, but checked out the Chihuly Garden & Glass. His work was very impressive and unique!
Monday morning we checked out Top Pot Doughnuts, the selection was overwhelming, so I went with one of the best sellers, the apple fritter and was not disappointed.
After, Andy's parents had to get some work done so I decided to take the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island to kill some time. I got to see some awesome views of the city as well as Bainbridge Island.
Bainbridge has this really neat fisherman/woodsy town feel to it that I was loving!
When Andy arrived in Seattle we picked him up and headed to Whistler! Now, to say the drive was beautiful is an understatement! It was amazing! Unlike anything I have ever experienced. On our return trip we made some stops, but I don't think these photos even do it justice!
We arrived in Whistler Monday night, got settled in and I tried to mentally prepare myself for skiing. I'm not going to lie, I was actually very nervous, I hadn't skied in close to ten years and I grew up skiing on the hills of Minnesota.
Luckily, skiing is like riding a bike, and after a few runs I felt pretty comfortable. There were a times that I was faced with moguls and I would panic and yell at Andy. Let's just say getting through them was not pretty. I didn't fall, but I was not graceful.
The views at the top of the mountain were breathtaking!
We skied for a total of three days, Tuesday and Wednesday on, Thursday off and Friday on. After skiing each day, we would typically enjoy a drink at one of the bars at the base of the mountain...
Walk through the village...
Pose for photos with the Olympic rings...
Then get back to the condo, hop in the hot tub, go to dinner and then sleep. I've never considered myself a ski bunny, but I could definitely do this for a few weeks out of the year and not complain!
On our day off we went zip-lining with Bill and Jan, it was a hoot!
I was a little worried about Bill and Jan, but they did great and seemed to enjoy it!
Also got some great views of the mountains!
The week flew by and sadly on Saturday we packed up the car and headed back to Seattle to catch our early flights back home Sunday morning.
The vacation was awesome and I would not be opposed to a repeat! If anyone is looking for a trip, I highly recommend adding this to your list of places to check out, you will not regret it! It really does feel like heaven on earth :)
I hope everyone is doing well and has a great weekend! Shout out to my good friends +Kelly Daugherty and Rich Daugherty, they just had a beautiful baby girl, congrats!!
Oh, and here is Andy ironing...his project last Sunday :)
